Hi Tangueros

Thanks to those to came to the festive evening at Rhapsodys on Tuesday. Hope to see you at the Milonga Africana tonight. Take advantage of the free premilonga lesson!

See below a message from Christy Cote about her lesson in follower technique next Saturday:

Hello Cape Town tangueros,

I'm thrilled to be visiting your amazing (I've heard) country and to have the opportunity meet you all.  Rachel's invitation to teach my favorite subject, follower's technique, has made it that much more special!

Some of you may know me thru my instruction DVDs with partner, George Garcia,  produced and distributed by Dance Vision.  I invite you to read my bio and visit my webpage at www.christycote.com.    Assisting me with the workshop will be Eugene Theron.   Eugene has studied tango with me for the past 3 years and has become an accomplished dancer.    Eugene is originally from South Africa but lives in the San Francisco area.

I believe the follower's roll is equally as important as the leader's.  It requires the follower to do her 50% in this unique communication known as tango.    This workshop will explore several different areas to help empower you in the follower's roll including understanding the detailed technique for various elements (including ochos, ocho cortado, molinetes, spiral cross,  barridas, enganches & volcadas),  musicality & embellishing, and embrace and attitude.  We will use across the floor & barre exercises as well as partner work (2 followers together) to reinforce technique.   Leader's are welcome and can benefit from gaining better understanding of the follower's roll.   All levels can benefit and are welcome.

I look forward to meeting you all in Cape Town!   A big thank you to Rachel for her gracious invitation.

Abrazos from San Francisco,
Christy
